Yoga is a deeply personal practice that develops flexibility and strength in the body and mind, and a calmness in the spirit. It invites us to slow down, to relax, and to turn inward. Modern society is chaotic and busy, and our days are filled with deadlines, schedules, and to-do lists. Over time, this rapid pace of living becomes the norm, and our bodies and minds adapt by constantly operating in overdrive mode causing chronic strain on our nervous and lymphatic systems. At our retreat, a dedicated time and space is created to hit the pause button, to nurture our well-being, and to take deep breaths while reversing the effects of the daily grind.
The yoga sessions at Breathe Retreat are for all levels- whether you are brand-new or a seasoned practioner there will be something for you to enjoy. The beauty of this retreat is that it will be 100% customized, and all yoga sessions are optional. Participate in as much or as little as you like, and the group energy level and requests will set the foundation for each class. Jessica is a professional instructor with years of teaching experience under her belt, and she can offer modifications for injuries, as well as opportunities to layer up your practice with backbends, inversions, and arm balances.
During the retreat, there will be 7 yoga classes, one every morning and evening. Classes will incorporate pranayama (breath control practices), meditation, and asana (physical postures) all designed to integrate the body, mind and spirit. The use of essential oils, music, candles and hands-on assists will supplement the practice to deepen your experience. The morning practice will wake the body up with stretching, movement, pranayama, gentle core exercises and balancing poses all chosen to enhance your experience on skis during the day. The apres ski class will include a short philosophy discussion, a centering guided meditation, a vinyasa flow, and restorative postures to unwind tension and stiff bodies after a day on the slopes.
All yoga mats and props will be provided, but feel free to bring your personal mat or additional items, such as an eye mask for savasana.
